You first have to extract the base pkg and the fix pkg each to separate folders. Then take the files/folders from the extracted fix directory and drag them to the extracted base directory, replacing the files from base with the fix files. After that, generate a new pkg from this directory.
This new pkg can then be installed and it will run on FW 6.72!
