After an incident that ends up involving him in a police mess, the protagonist who eventually goes by the code name Joker is sent to Japan to spend a year on probation, attending a new school, under guardianship. In this unfamiliar environment, the character soon makes some friends and discovers being able to use powers. More specifically, he and his colleagues manage to go to the Metaverse, a kind of "inverted world" in which people's true desires are manifested.
